Enjoy the Ride

Earlier this year, while at an HR/Payroll conference in Vegas, I had the pleasure of hearing professional speaker Steve Gilliland speak. I was given a handout during his talk, that I've kept with me. I came upon it again this week and wanted to share with you what it says.

Enjoy the Ride....

CHECK YOUR PASSION...love what you do, why you do it, and who you do it with
CURE YOUR DESTINATION DISEASE...happiness is found in the journey, not at the destination
REFOCUS YOUR ATTENTION...decide what is important and never take it for granted

It's not how your start or finish; the true joy of life is in the trip!

I've had a few different opportunities to reflect upon how I live my life, through watching how others have lived (or are living) theirs. The Central Ohio community has lost a member of our family. Heather Pick, a news anchor, lost her battle with breast cancer yesterday. I loved to watch her each and every morning, as I got my day started. My heart breaks for her family, friends and co-workers. I watched a special about her and her life this morning, and a common theme I heard was how she lived each day to the fullest; never taking each moment she was given for granted. We all have so much we can learn from her example.

Today I'm holding tight to those I love and I hope you are too....

The flowers pictured above are a gift from my husband. They arrived yesterday, while at work. Thank you honey for the beautiful flowers to celebrate my birthday.
